During this virtual event, psychologist and leadership coach Dr. Pat Romney will discuss the importance of social connections, community, and equity to a life well lived. “We all know good genes and a healthy lifestyle are connected to longevity,” she says. “But we not only want to live long; we also want to live well.” Romney, a longtime clinical and organizational psychologist, is currently a leadership coach to academic and human services professionals. She also has a small psychotherapy practice focused on elders and their families. For 20 years, she taught at Hampshire and Mount Holyoke Colleges and wrote more than 20 articles and papers. She is still an active scholar. For the past 30 years, she has been involved in dialogue work, large-scale diversity initiatives, leadership development, and team building, as well as professional coaching of individual faculty and administrators in academia. She was a founding board member of Amherst Neighbors, and served as co-chair of their fundraising committee.
