Interest Groups

Northampton Neighbors Interest Groups are formed and run by and for members. Hikers, walkers, readers, gardeners, and others come together to explore and share our passions. Join an NN Interest Group or start one of your own. The sky’s the limit! Learn more about Interest Groups here.

NN Social

NN Socials are get-togethers with no agenda. We simply relax, enjoy the company of old friends, and meet new neighbors. Members receive email notifications about upcoming social events and we list them on our calendar.

Monthly Insights

NN Monthly Insights is an education series providing practical information about valuable resources and relevant topics for older adults in our community.  Members receive email notifications about upcoming events and we list them on our calendar.

Neighborhood Circles

Neighborhood Circles are a way for members to connect with those who live closest to them. A local official may share city happenings, or a speaker from the neighborhood may bring a story to tell. There is always time for questions and conversation. Find your Neighborhood Circle here.

Our Stories

Sharing stories is a powerful way to make connections, learn from others’ experiences, inspire, and be inspired. At Our Stories neighbors tell and hear stories based on a suggested topic. You don't have to share a story to participate; feel free to simply listen. We gather online and in-person. Check the NN Calendar for details.

Speaker Series

Northampton Neighbors' lively Speaker Series began in 2018, guided by a commitment to present topics of particular interest to older people as well as those intended for a broader audience.  Learn more here

NN Laptop Program

Do you have a laptop you no longer need? We will wipe your old laptop clean, making it ready to give to someone who needs it. Do you need a laptop? Based on availability, we will deliver a laptop to you and provide some basic instructions for you to get started. More Information.

 UMass/NN Storytelling Project: Connecting Across Generations

NN members are paired with upper-level undergraduates in a UMass course about connection, belonging, and public health. Over the course of a semester, each duo gets to know one another, largely through sharing stories about their own lives on Zoom. The course ends with partners recording interviews with one another on a topic of each person’s choosing. Listen to interviews from previous semesters, and learn more about how to participate.
