About this event

When faced with a loved one’s serious illness, many families find themselves overwhelmed, uncertain, and afraid. In this compassionate guide, hospice nurse and educator Maureen Groden, RN, offers a sympathetic and deeply human glimpse into one of life’s most challenging passages.

Maureen Groden will read from her book, When a Loved One Is Dying: Conversations About Care, Connection and Coping and address:
  • Some of the myths, misconceptions and important new considerations when it  comes to Advanced Directives, Palliative Care and Hospice Care
  • Life Review: Physical, Social, Emotional, Spiritual Changes and Family Experience, Final Hours and Days of Life, “Presence” at the End of Life
***
Maureen Groden has been a hospice nurse and educator for several decades. During her career, Maureen held leadership positions as the Director of Hospice and Palliative Care at several major health care systems, including Mass General Brigham/Cooley Dickinson and Holyoke Medical Center/Hospice Life Care. In these roles, Maureen was instrumental in leading quality hospice and palliative care teams in the care of patients with serious and terminal illnesses.
