Pamela Schwartz will offer information on the numbers, trends and challenges facing people who experience homelessness in our region, followed by a discussion of state legislation that, if passed, would make a meaningful difference. How do we get it across the finish line? Come learn about what you can do to help make it happen!
Pamela Schwartz has served as Director of the Western Massachusetts Network to End Homeless since 2009 (https://www.westernmasshousingfirst.org/). The Western Massachusetts Network to End Homelessness coordinates over 150 partners and state and local leaders across the four western counties to prevent and end homelessness with a Housing First approach that centers racial equity.
Pamela began her career as a legal services lawyer representing low-income tenants and then moved into policy work with the Tax Equity Alliance of Massachusetts (now MA Budget and Policy Center), MA Department of Public Health, and the National Priorities Project. She also has worked as an organizer on a number of ballot and electoral campaigns and served in elected office as a Northampton City Councilor (2009-2013). Pamela is a graduate of Barnard College (1985) and New York University School of Law (1988). Pamela has lived in Northampton since 1993 with her husband, Joel Feldman, and their 3 grown children are proud graduates of the Northampton public schools.
